212 Journal of the State Council, 1784-1789.

That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Johnson junr. Fifty
pounds for One Quarter's Salary as Clerk of the Council due the
1st. Instant.

That the said Treasurer pay to William Harwood Thirty seven
pounds, ten shillings for half a Year's Salary as Clerk of the House
of Delegates due the 1st. Instant.

Commissions issued to Walter Hanson, Daniel Jenifer, John Dent,
Warren Dent, Richard Barnes, William Harrison, John Parnham,
John Morton, Bennett Dyson, George Lee, Benjamin Fendall, and
Henry Barnes appointed Justices of the Peace for Charles County.

Walter Hanson, Daniel Jenifer, John Dent, Richard Barnes and
Henry Barnes appointed Justices of the Orphans Court of said
County.

[p 255] Ordered That the Treaty between the United States and
the Emperor of Morrocco ratified by Congress on the 18th. of July
1787 be published for the information of the Citizens of this State

Ordered that the Clerk of this Board give Notice by advertiseing
in the Maryland Gazzette and Baltimore Journal that such American
Masters of Vessels as may make Voyages from the State of Mary-
land, in the course of which they may expect to meet with Cruisers
from Morrocco may be furnished, on application to him, with Copies
of the Signals agreed on between the United States of America and
his Majesty the Emperor of Morrocco To the End that the Vessels
of both parties may be known to each other at Sea.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to His Excellency
William Smallwood Esqr. Five hundred pounds Current Money for
half a Year's Salary as Governor.

Thursday 16th. August 1787
