172 Journal of the State Council, 1784-1789.

In Council February 9th. 1787

A Petition from Ann Tilly of Anne Arundel County, accompanied
by a Certificate from the Clerk of the Court, was laid before the
Board, setting forth that at August Court 1786, She was fined twelve
hundred pounds of Tobacco on two Presentments for selling Liquor
without Licence, that she is a Person whose indigent circumstances
render her unable to pay the said fine, and three of the Justices of the
County Court aforesaid having Recommended the Petitioner for
relief, The Board upon Consideration of her Case, do order and
direct the said fine to be remitted.

Saturday 10th. February 1787

The Council met.

Present as on Yesterday.

Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Frederick
Green One hundred, and seven pounds, ten shillings Current Money
due him per Account passed by the Auditor General.

The Council adjourned 'till Monday Morning 11 o'clock.
