The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Wednesday 3d. May 1786

The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Smallwood Esqr.

The Honorable Jeremiah Townley Chase

John Kilty

William Paca Esquires.

Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Benjamin
Mackall Esquire One hundred pounds Current Money for half a
Years Salary as One of the Judges of the Court of Appeals ending
the 1st. Instant.

That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Issabell Eight pounds, ten
shillings current Money due him for going Express per acc't. passed
by the A. G.

That the said Treasurer pay to Gillis Polk Six pounds thirteen
shillings and four pence specie agreeably to the "Act to adjust the
Debts due from this State" per Account passed by the Aud'r. General.

Resolved That the Agent appointed to solicit Money and Tobacco
on Loan, to finish the Transactions and Sales of the late Intendant
and Commissioners of Confiscated British Property, to treat with
the Indians for the Purchase of their Lands in Dorchester County,
and to procure final Settlements on other Liquidated Securities of the
United States by Purchase or on Contract in Virtue of the "Act
to vest certain powers in the Governor and Council" be and is
[p 125] hereby allowed as a Compensation for his executing
the several powers conferred on him by the said Act and for all Ex-
pences and Charges to be incurred thereby at the rate of Five hundred
Pounds Current Money per Annum and a Commission of One and
a half per Cent on all Confiscated British Property hereafter to be
sold by him.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Thursday 4th. May 1786

The Council met.
