County otherwise called Thomas Hedge ffishmun-
ger & Samuell Hedge Painter Stayner of London
were Sumoned to answer unto John Shelton Citizen
& Sadler of London of a plea that they render unto

him the bume of foure & twenty pounds of lawfull money of Eng-
land which to him they owe & unjustly detaine
And whereupon the said John by Robert Carvile his Attorney
saith, that whereas the said Thomas & Samuell upon the nineteenth
day of Novembr Anno Doni One thousand six hundred Seventy two
by their certaine bond or writeing obligatory sealed with the Seales
of them the said Thomas & Samuel & here in Court produced whose
date is the day & yeare abovesaid, did confesse & acknowledge them
to be held & firmly bound unto the said John Shelton in the sume
of Twenty foure pounds of good & lawfull money of England to be
paid to the said John Shelton his certaine Attorney Execrs Admrs or
assignes, to which paymt well & truely to be made they bound them-
selves & either of them their heyres Exrs & Admrs joyntly & severally
in the whole & every part firmly by those prsent Yet notwithstanding
the said Thomas & Samuell nor either of them the said Sume of
twenty foure pounds of lawfull money of England according to the
tenour of the said bond to him the said John Shelton though often
thereunto requested haue not paid or satisfied, but the same to pay
& Satisfie have hitherto & still doe deny & refuse to pay the same to
the damage of the said John Shelton thirty pounds sterling and
thereupon he bringeth his suite
And the said Thomas Hedge by John Blomfield his Attorney com-
eth & defendeth the force & injury when &c & prayeth the hearing of
the writing aforesaid & itt is read unto him, he also prayeth the hear-
ing of the Condicon of the writeing aforesaid & itt is read unto him
in these words The Condicon of this Obligacon is such, that if the
above bounden Thomas Hedge or Samuell Hedge or either of them
their or either of their heyres Execrs or Admrs shall & doe well &
truely pay or cause to be paid unto the above named John Shelton
his Execrs Admrs or assignes the full Sume of twelve pounds sterling
of good & lawfull money of England on the nineteenth day of May
in the yeare One thousand six hundred seventy & three, then this
