Comand was given the Sheriffe of S^t Maryes
County, that by good & lawfull men of his baily-
wick he make known unto Pope Alvey that he
be & appeare here the fourth day of March in

the fourth yeare of the Dominion of Charles
Lord Baltemore &c Anoq Doni 1678 to shew cause if any he have
why Execution should not issue forth upon a judgm^t obtained
against him by Emanuell Ratcliffe Ad^r of the Goods & Chatties
rights & Creditts which were of the said Daniel the fourth day of
April Annoq Doni 1676. for Sixteen hundred pounds of tobacco
debt And also Six hundred & three pounds of tobacco costs of
suite for which satisfaction remaineth to be made which said fourth
day of March on which the said Court was to haue bin held was
by his Lordpps writt of Adjournm^t Adjourned unto the fifth day
of the same And from the said fifth day of March was by his
Lordpps writt of Adjournm^t further adjourned untill the sixth day
of March the next following On which said sixth day of March
the same Sheriffe maketh returne of the writt aforesaid, that by
vertue thereof he hath made known unto the said Pope Alvey before
Thomas Gerard & Thomas Mudd that he be & appeare att the day &
place in the same writt required

Afterwards to witt the Eleventh day of March in the yeare afore-
said cometh the said Emanuell by Robert Carvile his Attorney, and
prayeth his Execution of the said debt & costs. And the said Pope
Alvey although solemnly called came not but Made default There-
fore itt is considered that the said Emanuel Ratcliffe Adm^r as afore-
said haue Execution against the said Pope Alvey of the debt & costs
aforesaid And also pounds of tobacco for his costs
& charges sithence laid out and expended And the Defend^t in
mercy &c

The Sheriffe of Talbott County haveing returned
a Cepi in these causes, the plaintiffe by Robert
Carvile his Attorney moved the Court for spe-
ciall baile & itt is granted, whereupon this day to
witt the Eleventh day of March in the fourth
yeare of the Dominion of Charles Lord Balte-
more &c Annoq Doni 1678. cometh the said
Symon Irons with Nicholas Hacket Robert Bryan
Charles Hea & John Glover his suerties, who
