592 Provincial Court Proceedings, 1675. Liber M M to pay hath altogether denyed & as yet doth deny whereby he saith he is dampnified and hath losse to the value of five thousand pounds of tobacco & thereupon he bringeth his suite. And the said Thomas by Kenelm Cheseldyn his Attorny cometh & defendeth the force & injury when &c and prayeth licence to im parle here untill the next Provinciall Court & it is granted him and the same day is given to both parties. At which said Provinciall Court to witt the Sixtenth day of November in the 44th yeare of the Dominion of Caecilius &c Annoq Doth 1675 Came the said John Pawson by his Attorny aforesaid & the said Thomas Wynn in his proper person likewise came and the said Thomas Saith that as to twelve hundred sixty nine pounds of tobacco part of the said summe of two thousand five hundred pounds of tobacco he cannot gainsay for that he oweth the same unto the said John Therefore it is considered by the Court here that the said John Pawson recover against the said Thomas Wynn the said summe of twelve hundred Sixty nine pounds of tobacco the debt aforesaid together with the summe of five hundred Seventy two pounds of tobacco for his costs & charges in this behalf laid and expended & the said Thomas in mercy.
