it necessary to appoint Commissioners to attend a general Meeting
on that Subject
Ordered, That M.r Ringgold, M.r J. Hall, M.r Chase, M.r Dickin-
son, M.r W. Paca & M.r Tilghman do prepare and bring in the
Address to his Excellency relative to the several Papers communi-
cated by him at the Opening this Session
M.r Ringgold and M.r Wootton have Leave of Absence till Mon-
day next
The House adjourns till To-morrow Morning Eight O'Clock

The House met according to Adjournment —

The Members were called and all appeared as on Yesterday except
M.r Ringgold and M.r Wootton
The Proceedings of Yesterday were read
The Petitions delivered to M.r Speaker Yesterday by George
Steuart Esq were read and ordered to lie on the Table
The Order of the Day for taking into Consideration the Petition
of the subscribing Inhabitants of Baltimore County to the Upper
House of Assembly being read; the Serjeant at Arms returned the
Order of this House of the 13:th Instant thus indorsed "I hereby
depute Philip Meroney to serve the within Precept Witness my
Hand this fifteenth Day of October 1770
Robert Saunders Ser.t at Arms"

"Cepi Robert Alexander, James Sterrett, John Smith, John Purvi-
ance, Jacob Myers, John Hart William Spear Doctor Weisenthall,

Tho.s Jones.
Philip Meroney.

"N. E. Samuel Owings, Benjamin Rogers, Jon.a Plowman,
Richard Moale, Charles Ridgely, Wm. Ottey, John Dodge, Doctor

Ordered, That the said Petition, and the Resolves of this House,
upon the same, be read, and the same were read accordingly

The House being informed, that M.r John Smith, M.r John Purvi-
ance, and M.r James Sterrett were attending at the Door, in Obe-
dience to the Order of this House on Saturday last

Ordered, That they be called in; and they appeared accordingly
Ordered, That the said Petition and the Resolve of the House
upon the same be read; and they were read accordingly
