for the Time being who are hereby Authorized and required to
apply the same towards building furnishing and Compleating the
said Church and Chapel of Ease in the Parish and at the places
aforesaid

And Whereas the Vestry of the said Parish in Virtue of an Act
made at a Session of Assembly begun and held at the City of An-
napolis on the twenty sixth Day of May seventeen hundred and four
entituled "An Act for the Confirming Titles of Land given to the
Use of the Churches and several Chapels within this Province im-
powering the Commissioners of the respective Counties and Vestries
of the respective Parishes to take up certain Parcels of Land for the
Use of the same did Condemn two Acres of Land at a Place called
Chickens Bridge for erecting a Parish Church thereon
Be it therefore Enacted by the Authority aforesaid That the said
Vestry shall be and they are hereby impowered and directed to make
Sale of the said two Acres of Land to the highest bidder and to
apply the Money arising upon such Sale to the Purposes aforesaid

N:o 25: An Act for the Relief of the Reverend John McPherson of Charles
County
Whereas the said John McPherson by his humble Petition to this
present General Assembly hath set forth That for several Months
past he had been a languishing Prisoner in said County Goal for
larger sums than he was unfortunately able to pay That he had
offered to give up his whole Estate real and personal and his
future Income as Rector of William and Mary Parish in said County
to and for the Benefit of his Creditors reserving only such sum out
of his thirty per Poll as might be sufficient for his Support and
Maintainance And the Allegations of the said Petition appearing to
be true and that his lying in Goal can be of no Advantage to his
Creditors it is therefore prayed that it may be Enacted

And be it Enacted by the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary
by and with the Advice and Consent of his Lordships Governor
and the upper and lower Houses of Assembly and the Authority of
the same That Mess..rs Josias Hawkins, George Dent and Samuel
Love shall and are hereby nominated constituted and appointed
Trustees for the Creditors of the said John Macpherson and that
from and after the first Day of July next the whole Estate real and
