By the upper house of assembly June 15.th 1768: Read the second
time, and will pass, with the annexed amendments
Sign'd by order U. Scott cl: up: ho:

1.st amendment. In the 7.th line from the top of the second page,
leave out the words "a long square" and insert in place thereof,
"part of."

2.d amendment. After the word "chapel," in the 9.th line from
the top of the third page, insert the following words, "or to sue for,
and recover such monies, in case any of the subscribers should neglect
or refuse to pay the same subscribed by them, respectively,
3.d amendment. In the 7.th line from the top of the fourth page,
leave out the word "generously" and insert "piously" Which bill,
with the amendments, was read, assented to, and ordered to be
ingrossed.
M.r Thomas brings in and delivers to M.r speaker the following
ingrossed bills Viz.t
A bill entitled an act for the preservation of the breed of fish;
and a bill entitled an act to prevent any obstruction of the navigation
in the River Potowmack.

Which bills are read and assented to, and sent to the upper house
by M.r Thomas and M.r Bordley
Ordered that M.r Eden, M.r Tyler, and M.r Buchannan be added
to the committee appointed to inspect the accounts and proceedings
of the commissioners for the payment of the public claims, for emit-
ting bills of credit and for other purposes therein mentioned
The house adjourns til 2 o'clock
Fust meridiem. The house met according to adjournment

M.r Hollyday and M.r Sullivane have leave of absence. M.r Mur-
dock appeared in the house.

The governor communicates to M.r speaker, the following message.
Gentlemen of the lower house of assembly
Having, since the last session of assembly, received a letter from
M.r James Gorrel who served during the late war, as ensign, lieuten-
ant and adjutant in the Maryland troops; in which he desires me
to receive on his account, and apply to the payment of a debt he
contracted in the province, such sum as might fall to his share of the
money he understood the legislature here, had given among the
officers, in consideration of their services. I must now take the
liberty to make application to you on his behalf, as he was not here,
