The house met according to adjournment. The members were
called and all appeared, as on yesterday, except M.r Hayward, M.r
Worthington, M.r N. Thomas, and M.r Buchannan. The proceed-
ings of yesterday were read. The bill entitled, an act to enable Mary
Darnall, an infant, to enter into, and accept of a marriage settlement
and agreements; read the second time and will pass: Sent to the
upper house by M.r Goldsborough and M.r Johnson.
M.r Jennings brings in and delivers to M.r speaker a bill entitled
an act for lengthening the time of inspecting tobacco in Frederick
and Baltimore Counties, and at Elk Ridge Warehouse in Ann
Arundel County: Which is read the first time and ordered to lie
on the table.
M.r Hall brings in and delivers to M.r speaker a bill entitled an act
to remedy the inconveniencies arising from the loss of some pro-
ceedings in saint Marys County court: Which is read the first time
and ordered to lie on the table.
On taking into consideration the order of the day relating to the
variation of the compass &c.a: Resolved that the same be postponed
'til tuesday next
The petition of the rector, vestrymen, and churchwardens of
Stepney parish in Somerset and Worcester Counties, read a second
time and granted.
Ordered that M.r Allen, M.r J. Dashiel, M.r Purnell, M.r Selby,
and M.r T. Dashiel do prepare and bring in a bill agreeable to the
prayer of the said petition.
John Ridout esquire from the upper house delivers to M,r speaker
the bill entitled an act to enable Mary Darnall, an infant, to enter
