M.r Chase, M.r Allen, M.r Hollyday, M.r Hall, M.r M Tilghman and
M.r Johnson do prepare and bring in the same.
On motion, leave given to bring in a bill for regulating the com-
missions and salaries of the judges of the provincial court. Ordered
that Mr Chase, M.r Murdock, M.r M Tilghman, M.r Hollyday, M.r
Wolstenholme, M.r Hayward, M.r Hall, M.r Johnson, M.r Allen,
M.r Steele, M.r Jennings, M.r Buchannan and M.r Grahame, be a
committee to make an estimate of the salaries of three judges of the
provincial court, and also to consider of ways and means to defray
the expense thereof, and report the same.
On motion, leave given to bring in a bill for lengthening the time
of inspecting tobacco in Frederick and Baltimore Counties, and at
Elk Ridge landing, in Ann Arundel County. Ordered that M.r Jen-
nings, M.r Bordley, M.r Johnson and M.r Chase do prepare and bring
in the same.
On motion, leave given to bring in a bill to prevent the exporta-
tion of flour, staves, and shingles, not merchantable from the town
of Baltimore in Baltimore County, and to regulate the weight of
hay, and measure of grain, salt, flaxseed and fire-wood within the
said town. Ordered that M.r Chase, M.r Moale, M.r Johnson, M.r
Ridgely, M.r Adair, M.r Hollyday and M.r Deye, do prepare and
bring in the same.
Walter Dulany esquire from the upper house delivers to M.r
speaker, the petition of the inhabitants of Chester town, the petition
of Ann Catharine Green, the petition of the reverend M.r M.cPherson,
the petition of sundry inhabitants of Kent County; the petition from
the vestry of Chester Parish, in Kent County; and a petition from a
number of the inhabitants of the County of Caecil. Which petitions
were severally indorsed: "May 30. th 1768: Read and referred to the
consideration of the lower house of assembly.
