Sent the following Message together with Copies of the Letters
referred to, by S: Chamberlain Esq.r
By the Upper House of Assembly 2d June 1768.
Gentlemen
We herewith send you Copies of two Letters, laid before this
House by Samuel Chamberlaine Esq,,r, Naval Officer of Oxford, and
Col.o Hammond Treasurer of the Western Shore, by the first, and
the Endorsement thereon, you will see, that so long ago as the Year
1730; that Gentleman remitted to the late M.r William Hunt, Mer-
chant in London, Bills of Exchange for £381..18..10. Sterling, the
same being a Balance, then due to this Province from the Estate of
Robert Ungle Esq,,r, and by the second to Col.o Hammond, that
there is a further Sum of £93..8..0 due to this Province from M.r
William Hunts Estate, which, it seems, was remitted by him many
years ago, both which Sums Cap.t Thomas Hunt, Brother and Execu-
tor of the late M,,r William Hunt, is ready and willing to pay to
any Person that may be legally Authorized to receive the same.

I am sorry to acquaint You with the Death of my late Brother
William Hunt, who Died 27,,th of April last, leaving me his Sole
Executor, in Consequence thereof his Affairs comes under my Care
I find by his Books, that his Estate is indebted to the Province
of Maryland £381..18..10, being the amount of your own two Bills
remitted to him upon that Account This being Money belonging
to the Public, consequently must be at the disposal of your Assembly,
you must therefore send me their Act impowering you to draw on
me for that sum, on Your Complying with this request, and giving
me due Advice of such Bills as you may draw, you may then depend
on their Meeting with due Honor from
