Parish, &.a Indorsed, "By the Upper House of Assembly, Novem-
ber, 21. 1766." Read "the first and second Time, by especial Order,
and will pass.
Signed by Order, U. Scott, Cl. Up. Ho."

Which Bill was read here, and passed for ingrossing.
The Bill, entitled, An Act for obliging all infected Ships, and
other Vessels coming into this Province to perform Quarentine.
Was read and committed for Amendments.
A Bill, entitled, An Act for the Security of Purchasers, and
others, being Protestants, claiming by or from Aliens: Was
read the first Time, and ordered to lye on the Table.
A Bill, entitled, An Act for the more speedy Foreclosure of
Mortgages: Was read the first Time, and Ordered to lye on the
Table.

The Order of the Day being read, the Petition of Mayberry
Helmes, was referred for a second Reading on the Morrow.
The House adjourns till the Morrow Morning at 9 of the
Clock.

Nov. 22

Saturday, November 22.

The House met.
All appeared as Yesterday, except G. Plater, Esq and M.r
William Adams.
Col. Lloyd, M.r Edmondson, and M.r Gibson, have Leave of
Absence.
Col. Hammond from the Upper House, delivers to M.r
Speaker, a Petition of Archibald Ballytine, Prisoner in Balti-
more County Goal; Indorsed, "By the Upper House of As-
sembly: Referred to the Consideration of the Lower House:"
Which Petition was here read, and ordered to lye on the Table.
Col. Hyland appeared in the House.
Ordered, That M.r Earle do go with that Gentleman to the Upper
House to see him take the Oath of Abjuration prescribed by the
Act of Parliament made last Session.

M.r Earle returns, and acquaints M.r Speaker, that Gentleman
had taken the Oath aforesaid and submitted the same.
On reading the Petition of Anne Gaither, and the Petition of
Wright Mills, praying Relief for the Damages done them by a
Multitude of Persons, assembled in the Night, in the Month of
September 1765
Ordered, That M.r H. Hall, M.r Harris, M.r Dent, and M.r Bealle,
be a Committee to enquire into the Allegations and Facts, set forth
in the said Petitions, and all Things relative thereto, and report
the same to the House.
