Charles County Court Proceedings, 1674.601 fortieth yeare of the Dominion of Caecilius &c Annoq Domi one LiberF thousand six hundred seaventy & foure, Betweene Captn William Boareman in the Province of Maryland and in the County of St Maries Gentleman on the one party And William Hatton of the sd Province & County Gentleman of the other party, Wittnesseth, That the sd William Boareman for & in Consideracon of the sume of twenty & foure thousand pounds of tobaccoe to him in hand paid by the said William Hatton before the ensealinge & Delivery hereof, The receipt whereof hee the sd William Boareman doth hereby acknowledge & thereof & of every part & parcell thereof doth clearely & absolutely acquit exonerate & discharge him the sd Wil- liam Hatton his Execrs & Admrs by these presents: And for divers other good Causes & Consideracons him thereunto moveing hath given, granted, bargained aliened, Sold, Assigned transferred, En- ifeoffed & Confirmed & by these presents doth give, grant, bargaine, sell, aliene, Assigne, transferre Enifeoffee & Confirme unto the sd William Hatton his heires & Assignes for ever, All that tract parcell & Dividend of Land formerly called Thompsons Rest lieing on the East side of Piscattaway River, on the north side of a Creeke in the sd River Called Piscattaway Creeke, next adjoyneinge to the Land laid out for Luke Barber Esqrnal & since resurveyed & Called Boaremans Content scituate lyeinge & being in Charles County, And Begininge at a bounded black walnut the Eastermost bound tree of Luke Barber Esqr neare the Creeke & runing thence East north East five hundred pearches to a bounded red Oake standing in a valley Encompassed with hills betweene the Freshes at the head of Piscattaway Creeke, thence north & by west three hundred & twenty pearches to a bounded white Oake standing by a fresh runn, thence west South west five hundred pearches to the sd Barbers land, thence untill it Comes unto the first bound tree, Containeinge & laid out for one thousand acres more or lesse, Together with all & singular the Lands, tenements, Rights, members, buildings, Orchards, gar- dens, hawkeings, huntings, Fishings, Fowlings, & all & singular the appurtenances & priviledges thereto any wayes appertaineing, as allsoe all & singular the Deeds Evidences, Patents, Graunts, Charters [p. 26] & Writeings whatsoever of or concerning the same, To have & to hold the Land & premises to him the sd William Hatton his heires & Assignes for ever, to the onely proper use & behoofe of him the sd William Hatton his heires & Assignes for ever, And the sd William Boareman doth hereby for himselfe his heires Exects & Admrs Cove- nant & agree to & with the sd William Hatton his heires Execrs & Admrs, That the sd William Boareman at the time of the Ensealeinge & Delivery of these presents is & standeth seized of the sd Land & premises with their appurtenances of a firme sure good & undefeazable estate of inheritance in fee simple, & that hee hath full right good power & lawfull Authority to grant, bargaine & sell the same to the sd William Hatton his heires & Assignes, And that hee will for ever |
