570 Charles County Court Proceedings, 1671—1674.
Liber E further, & other Act or Acts, thing or things, device or devices, assur-
ance or assurances whatsoever Requisite in the premises, for the
better Assureing & more sure makeing of the sd bargained premises,
unto him the sd Philip Lymes his heires & Assignes for ever, be it by
Inrolement of these presents, fine feoffement or other wayes, or by
any other such law full wayes or meanes as by him the sd Philip
Limes his heires or Assignes or his or their Councell Learned in the
L4W shall be reasonably devised, Advised or required, In Wittness
whereof the parties to these Indentures have Interchangeably here-
unto sett their hands & seales the day & yeare first above written.

[p. 186] Thomas Baker acknowledgeth this parcell of Land menconed in
the ensueing Conveyance to Samuell Cressey & his heires for ever.
This Indenture made the 11th of Augt Anno Domi (1674) Be-
tweene Thomas Baker of Charles County planter of the one part, &
Samuell Cressey of the same County of the other party Wittnesseth,
that the sd Thomas Baker for & in Consideracon of a Certain sume
of Tobacco to him in hand paid before the Ensealinge & delivery
hereof, & for severall other Causes him thereunto moveing: Hath
Given, granted, aliened, bargained, sold, Assigned, transferred,
enfeoffed & Confirmed, and by these presents doth give, grant,
aliene, bargaine, sell, Assigne, transferre, Enfeoffee & Confirme
unto the sd Samuell Cressey his heires & Assignes for ever, All that
part of a parcell of Land Called Marsh land which lieth on the
Southermost side of a little Creeke, called Bakers Creeke, bounding
on the south East with the mouth of the sd Creeke, & Running East
three hundred & twenty pearches to a marked sauff, & from thence
Running North till it come to a bounded white oake standing in a
swamp at the head of the sd Bakers Creeke, & from the sd white
oake bounding with the sd Creeke, as the Creeke runs, till it come to
the mouth of the same, Conteineing the value of one hundred acres,
be the same more or less: Together with all houses, Edifices, build-
ings, Orchards, Gardens, & all & singular other the appurtenances
or priviledges to the sd Land belonging, or in any manner of way
apperteineing, Together with all Deeds, Writings, Evidences, thereto
belonging or appertaineing, To have & to hold the sd Land & premises
with their & every of their Rights, members & appurtenances to
the sd Samuell Cressey his heires & Assignes to the sole & proper
use and behoofe of the sd Samuell Cressey his heires & Assignes
for ever, And the sd Samuell Cressey paying yearely the Ld Pro-
prietarie's rent for the same, to the sd Thomas Baker his heires
or Asspgnes, or to such officer or officers as shall be impowred in
the behalfe of the Ld Proprietarie to receive the same, And the sd
