272 Charles County Court Proceedings, 1668—1670.
Liber D according to patten for the sd land to the sd Thoms Hussy the sd
[p. 55] Land called Newport, By the Rt Honbl the Ld Proprietary granted
relation being thereto had may more att large appeare now in the
possession of John Alword & Francis Heyden being delivered by
the sd Thoms Hussy wth Turff & twigg to have & to hold the sd
parte of the sd parcell of land called Newport all the rights mem-
bers & appurtenanc's thereunto belonging unto the sd John Alward
& Francis Heyden & their heirs forever & the sd John Alward & Fran:
Heyden & their heirs shall & may peaceably & quietly from hence-
forth & for ever have hold & occupy the sd Land & all & singular
[p. 56] other the prmises wth the Appurtenances & take perceive & receive &
enjoy the rents Issues & profitts thereof to the use of the sd John
Alward & Francis Heydon & their heirs for ever wthout lett trouble
eviction recovery or expulsion of or by the sd Thoms Hussy or
Joane his wife or other wise by any other person or persons by the
meanes title or procuremt of thm the sd Thoms Hussy or Joan &
also tht thc sd Thoms Hussy & Joan his Wife shall on this side before
the feast of St Michaell next Coming acknowledge remise & quite
[p. 57] clame from them & their heirs to the sd Jno Alward & Francis Heydon
their heirs for ever wth warranty agt themselves & their heirs & agt
any other person or persons wt soever tht shall pretend any claime
or title from by or under me the sd Hussy in or any waies lying on
the Norwest side of the sd branch for the sd lenght of two hundred
perches belonging or any waies appertaineing to the sd land called
Newport as may appeare by patten beareing date att St Maries the
26 day of 9br in the 36 yeare of the Dominion of the sd Ld proprietar
over the sd Province of Maryland As witness our hands & seales

Nathan Barton Acknowledgeth this ensueing Conveyance to
Henry Hawkings 75 Acres
This Indenture made the fourteenth day of June one thousand
six hundred & seventy Betweene Nathan Barton of Charls County
in the province of Maryland Carpentr of the one parte & Henry
Hawkins of the sd County Plantr of the other parte Witnesseth tht
the said Nathan Barton as well for & in Consideracon of the quantity
of three thousand pounds of tobacco in Cask in hand already before
the ensealing & delivery hereof by the sd Henry Hawkins whereof &
[p.59] wherewth the sd Nathan Barton doth acknowledge Himself fully
satisfied & pd & thereof & of every part & parcell thereof doth acquitt
