     and Delivered in the Presence of us     Stephen Montague

      Thomas Allanson Acknowledged this following Conveyance Land
     to Nicholas Emanson at the Court held in Charles County in the
     Monthe of August 1668.
      This Indenture Made this Tenth Day of August Anno Dni one
     Thousand Sixe Hundred Sixty and eight Between Thomas Allanson
     of Charles County in the Province of Maryland gent of the one Part
     and Nicholas Emanson of the Same Place Inholder of the other
     pty Witnesseth That the Thomas Allanson for and in Cons idera- [p. 33]
     tion of the Summe of five Thousand Pounds of Good and Lawfull
     Tobaccoe to him in hand Paid by Nicholas Emanson The Receipt
     whereof the sd Thomas doth hereby Acknowledge And himself e to
     be fully Satisfied Paid and Contented & thereof and therefrom and
     of and from every Part and Parcell thereof Doth Acquitt exonerate
     and Discharge the sd Nicholas Hath Bargained Sold Aliened As-
     signed Enfeoffed and Set over and by these Presents doe for and
     from him his heires Executrs and Adminrs Bargaine Sell Alien As-
     signe enfeoffe and Set over unto the sd Nicholas Emanson one tract or
     Parcell of Land Containing two Hundred acres Scituate Lyeing
     and Being on the South Side of Mattawoman Creeke in Pascatoway
     River Commonly known or Called by the Name of Howland Late
     Belonging to George Howes deceased and from him purchased by
     Thomas Allanson aforesd as By Conveyance from Henry Frankam
     of Charles County Relacon being thereto Had may more at Large
     appeare together wth all and Singular Pattents Papers writeings evi-
     dences or Manuscripts touching or in any wise Concerning the same
     wth all and Singular Rights priviledges proffits or Benefits there-
     unto Belonging or in any wise appertaining To Have and to Hold
     the sd Tract of two Hundred Acres Be it More or Lesse unto the sd
     Nicholas Emanson his Heires and Assignes for ever And the sd
     Thomas Allanson doth for himselfe his heires Executrs Adminrs
     and Assignes Covenant Promise and Agree to and wth the sd Nicholas
     Emanson his Heires Executrs Adminrs and Assignes That he the sd
     Thomas Allanson now is Lawfully and justly Possessed of a just &
     due title & claime in Law of and in the Before Bargained Premises
     and hath full and Absolute Power to Bargaine Sell and Alien the
     same And tht the sd Premises now are and for ever after Shall be free
     and Cleare and freely Acquitted exonerated and Discharged of and
     from all and Singular former and other Bargaines Sales gifts
     graunts Leases Rents Arrearages of rents Rent Charges Mortgages
     Joyntures Dowers Rights or Titles of Dower Claimes or demands
     whatsoever of any Person or Persons formerly had done or Comitted
     or to be Had Made Comitted or done And the sd Thomas Doth
     for himselfe his heires Executrs & Adminrs Covenant Promise and
