Randall in his Life time in the quantitie of 630 lb of tobaccoe upon Liber D
Accot of Severall goods Delivered to the Defendt by the said Richard
now decd And the Plaintifes being Adminrs of the said Richards estate
have Demanded the said tobaccoe of the Defendt but are denyed
Payment of the same And Thereupon they bring their Suite.
Whereupon the Defendt Entereth for his Plea That he Denyeth
not to have had the goods amounting to the value abovesaid but
alleadged tht he Receaved the same in Satisfacon of tobaccoe lent
to the said Richard in his Life time and to Prove the same Pro-
duceth a Note under the said Richard's hand, & thereupon the Court
dismissed the Action wth the Consent of the Plaintifes
John Hobbs Cooper Entereth Mr James Lyndsey geni his
Attorney wth full power to Act in anie busines belonging to him the
said Hobbs; or to Constitute anie other Attorney under him.
John Hutch inson Entereth this following Marke of his hogges [p.4]
and Cattell (vizt) Cropt on both Eares and a Slitte in the Right,
and overkeel'd in the Left.
Jeremie Kennedie Entereth this following Marke of his hogges
and Cattell (vizt) Two slitts in each eare and a hole in each eare.
At a Court held in Charles County on the eighth Day of September
Anno Dni 1668

George Harris being Summoned before the Court to Answer to
what Should be Alleadged against him by one Joane Lang ford
made his appearance, and the said Joane accusing the said George
for begetting a Bastard Child on her Body, and for Nonperformance
of his promise to Marry her, or set her free thereupon It was
ordered That the said George Harris should Remaine in the Sherrifes
Custody till he produced Sufficient Security by Bond to be passed
to the Sherrife for the Payment of the just quantity of Sixteen
Thousand pounds of tobaccoe in Case the said George should not
keep and Save harmles the County of Charles County from the
keeping & Maintaining a Bastard Child gotten by him the said
George on the said Joane Langford as aforesaid, and further that
the said George should Satisfie the quantity of Two hundred and
fifty pounds of tobaccoe to the Wife of John Cofer for tending on
the said Joane in her Laying in.
Be it Remembred That the aforesd George Acknowledged in Court
his Desire to Pay and Satisfie the quantity of five hundred pounds
