142 Charles County Court Proceedings, 1668—1670. Liber D of tobaccoe to the Rt Honble the Lord Proprietary thereby to Acquit and set free the said Joane from the penalty of Whipping, & upon his said Acknowledgment It was ordered tht he should pay tht sd tobaccoe as aforesaid, & thereupon the sd Joane to goe free from the sd penalty John Green Servt of Mr Benjamin Rozer being presented to the Court was adjudged to be fourteen yeares of age Hugh Phyllips Servt of Colonel Gerrard Fowke being presented to the Court was adjudged to be one and twenty yeares of age Ordered tht Joseph Cooper keep the Child of Arthur Turner late deceased called Anne Turner Notwithstanding the Child was formerly ordered to Mr William Marshall, and tht the said Joseph be allowed the just quantity of one Thousand pounds of tobaccoe in Consideration of his keeping the Child untill November Lourt next ensueing and afterwards if the Court shall not find another to keep the said Child the said Joseph shall be allowed eight hundred pounds of tobaccoe p annum for keeping the same Elizabeth Love Daughter of William Love was borne the Last Day of May Anno Dni 1668 The said William Love Entereth the Marke of his hogges and Cattell as followeth vizt, The Right eare Slitt and underkeeld & the Left eare holed and overkeeled Henry Wells Entereth the Marke of his hogges and Cattel (p. 5] followeth vizt A Croppe and one Slitt in the Right eare, & an overkeel on the Left Joseph Cooper Entereth the Marke of his hogges and Cattel as followeth (vizt) Swallow forked on the Right eare and two Nicks on the Left Mary Cooper Daughter of the said Joseph Cooper Entereth the Marke of her hogges and Cattel as followeth (vizt) Swallow forked on the right eare, and two Nicks under the Left eare, and one Nick upon the uper side of the said eare William Jenkins Entereth the Marke of his hogges and Cattell as followeth (vizt) A Flower of Deluce in each eare William Graunt Plaintife versus Col. Gerrard Fowke Defendt in a Plea of Debt for three Barrells of Corne and his freedome Cloaths Writt of Summons to the Sherrife Retornable the first Day of the Following Crt Retorne The Within Mentioned Col. Gerrard Fowke I have Summoned as the Writt required Sam. Cressey Undersherrife. |
