of that Amendment extends to apply the Bounties raised in any
particular County to Linnens Manufactured in any Part of the
Province, which we apprehend would not properly Encourage Manu-
factories of Linnen in every County, but that the Inhabitants of
particular Counties, who are already considerably Skilled in that
Manufacture, might get all the Bounties in the Province, which
would tend to discourage others from attempting it; We therefore
cannot agree to your Honours Amendment so extensively but are
willing the Flax or Hemp, of which the Linnen is made, shall be the
Growth and Manufacture of any Part of the Province, provided
the Spinning the Thread & Weaving & whitening the Linnen be
confined to the particular County that pays the Bounty, & hope your
Honours will consent that the Bill be amended agreeable to this

Who make Choice of and appoint the Honourable Benedict Calvert
Chairman, and Robert Couden their Clerk, and agree to make the
following Report Viz.t
Your Committee find by an Account from the Trustees in London
dated June 7..th 1764. that there was then Capital Bank Stock belong-
ing to the Province £40,800, which Cost £50,731:7:6, and there was
£32..4..2 a Balance not invested, out of which Sums the Commission-
ers of the Paper Currency Office have drawn, in Bills of Exchange
since September 29:th 1764, the sum of £25,778.. 18..6 Sterling, and
paid away Bills of Exchange to the Amount of £1010..5 :7 1/2 paid in
