Ex.d Parish and for Building a Parish Church and enlarging a Chappie

Whereas many Inhabitants both of Saint Pauls and Shrewsbury
Parishes in Kent County have by their Petitions Represented to this
General Assembly that a great number of People in the said Parishes
and about the Middle of the County, live too remote from either
of the Parish Churches of the said Parishes to attend divine Wor-
ship, and have prayed that an Act may pass to erect a new Parish
in the Middle of the said County to take in part of both the said
Parishes, and have also Represented that there are two places proper
in the said new intended Parish for erecting a Parish Church and
Chappie of Ease in the said Parish for the convenience of the In-
habitants the one to be at or near the Cross Roads called and known
by the Name of I. U. the other in Chester Town.

Be it therefore Enacted by the Right Honourable the Lord Pro-
prietary by and with the advice and consent of his Lordship's Gov-
ernor and the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly and the
Authority of the same, That from and after the end of this present
Session of Assembly, all those parts of saint Pauls Parish and
Shrewsbury Parish in Kent County aforesaid that are contained
within the bounds herein after mentioned and expressed, that is to
say beginning in Saint Pauls Parish at the mouth of a Pond by the
Bayside between Marmaduke Tilden's and William Frisby's and
running up the Pond Side to the Head thereof where it intersects
the Line between said Marmaduke Tilden's Land and George Cop-
pers Land thence with that line to the road leading from said Tilden's
to Cooter Griffins thence with that road to intersect the main road
leading from the Head of Worton by Chester Town and with that
main road to a Valley in James McClean's Plantation leading into
the Head of the branch called Fannings Branch thence down that
Valley and Branch to a Small Branch issuing out of the said Fan-
nings Branch called bloody bridge Branch thence up the said Bloody
Bridge Branch to the head thereof and then with a Streight Line

to the Head of Muddy Creek and down the said Creek to Chester
River and in Shrewsbury Parish Beginning at the Mouth of Turners
Creek on Sassafrass River, and running up the said Creek to James
Loutitts Point, and thence with the road leading by John Shawhans
into the main County road to Chester Town thence with the said
Main County Road to Thomas Perkins's and thence by the cross
road to Isaac Perkins's Mill and then by a due South East Line
from the said Mill to Chester River shall be taken from Saint Pauls
Parish and Shrewsbury Parish aforesaid and erected into a new

Parish by the name of Chester Parish and shall from and after the
time aforesaid be deemed reputed adjudged and taken for Chester
Parish and not as part or parcel of Saint Pauls and Shrewsbury
