The Humble Address of the House of Delegates
May it please Your Excellency
The Unhappy Circumstance of the Small Pox being in Town and
One of Our Members now Dead of that Disorder will we are aprhen-
sive make it impossible for us to keep a Suff.t Number together to
compose a House longer than this Day or To Morrow and as several
Useful Bills have passed both Houses and wait only for your Ex-
cellencys Assent we humbly pray you will be pleased to pass them into
Laws that should we be Obliged to separate before the Mres yet
under Consideration of Either of the two Houses can be compleated
the Country may not lose the Benefit of the Bills already agreed to
Which was read and assented to and signed by Order of the House
by the Hon.ble Speaker
Ord.d that Col.o Lloyd and M.r Grahame do acquaint the Governor
that this House hath prepared an Address to be presented to him
and desires to know when and where he will please to receive it
they return and acquaint Mr Speaker that the Governor signified he
would receive the Address in Half an Hours Time at his House
Ord.d that Col.o Lloyd and three more do present the Address to
the Governor
On Motion Ord.d that Mr Speaker do Issue his Warr.t directed
to the Deputy Secretary of this pvince to make out a Writ of Election
to the Sheriff of Dorchester County to elect a Delegate to serve in
the General Assembly of this Province now Sitting in the Room of
Col.o Henry Travers deceased
