An Act impowering Richard Richardson of Frederick County to
Sell and Dispose of the Lands which belonged to his Deceased
Father Richardson and to Apply the Money Arising therefrom
to the Uses of his said Fathers Will
Whereas Richard Richardson late of Frederick County Deceased
died seized and Possessed of Real Estate to Considerable Value and
by his Testament and last Will in Writing duly executed proved and
Recorded in the Prerogative Court did empower Certain Executors
named in the said Will to Sell that Part or Parcel of Land which his
son in Law Edward Matthews Deceased then lived on Commonly re-
puted to be one hundred Acres of Land called part of Josiah and
formerly Purchased by the said Richard Richardson deceased from
Henry Clagett And that the Money arising from such Sale should
be immediately Applied to the Discharge of his Debts and all the
rest of his Lands and Appurtenances thereunto belonging he Willed
and Ordained should be Sold by his Executors and that the Money
arising from such Sale should be Divided amongst his Children
named in the said Will in the Manner and Proportion therein men-
tioned And Whereas the said Richard Richardson the son who is
Heir at Law of the said Richard Richardson Deceased by his

Petition to this General Assembly hath set forth that the said
Executors refused to Act under the said Will for which reason
the said Lands remain unsold and himself and the rest of the Children
are reduced to the utmost distress for want of their respective Divi-
dends and hath therefore prayed that an Act may Pass enabling
him to sell the said Lands and make Distribution of the Money
arising thereby Agreeable to the said Will which Allegations Ap-
pearing to this General Assembly to be true Be it therefore enacted
by the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary by and with the
Advise and Consent of his Lordships Governor and the Upper and
Lower Houses of Assembly and the Authority of the same that the
said Richard Richardson the son be and by Virtue of this Act is
impowered to set up and expose to Sale at one or more Public
Vendue or Vendues to the highest bidder as well the said part of
the Tract of Land aforesaid called Josiah as all other the Lands
and Appurtenances which the said Richard Richardson Deceased
had at the time of his making and Executing his Will aforesaid
and every Part and Parcel thereof either the whole thereof together
or in such Parts and Parcels as to him the said Richard Richardson
the son shall seem most convenient and best Two Months Notice of
the said Sale or Sales and the time and Place of such Vendue or
Vendues being first given in the Maryland and Pensylvania Gazettes
and the said Lands and each and every of them and Premisses with
the Appurtenances and all Right Title Interest Estate Use Trust
Profit Property Claim and Demand of him the said Richard Rich-
ardson Deceased at the Time of his Death of in to and out of the
