Nov.r 1763 Read the first and Second time and with the following
Amendments will pass after the Words, paid to, in the io.th Line of
the 4th page insert the following, Such Persons as Shall by the Justices
of Baltimore Cot.y in Court Sitting be annually chosen and appointed,
leave out the fifth page and to the words, shall in the fourth Line of
the 6,th page, and insert the following Words, and be it further
Enacted by the Authority aforesaid that the Clerk of the Said Market
to be appointed as aforesaid, Leave out the Words, Elected and chosen
as Often as they Occur in the Bill, and insert at the End of the Bill
the following Clause, saving to his most Sacred Majesty his heirs and
Successors, the Right hon.ble the Lord Proprietary his heirs and
Successors and to all Bodies Politick and Corporate and all others
not mentioned in this Act their Several and respective Rights.

Which amendments were here read and with which this house doth
not concur.

John Ridout Esq.r from the Upper house delivers to Mr Speaker
a Bill Ent.d an Act to provide for the defence and Security of the
ffrontier Inhabitants against the Incursions of the Indians and for
the Better regulation of Ordinarys and Ordinary keepers within this
Province Ind.d By the Upper house of Assembly 24.th Nov.r 1763,
Read the first & Second time by Especial Order and will not pass.

By the Upper house of Assembly 24.th Novr 1763
Gentlemen
We are Sincerely desirious that some Measure may be taken for
the protection of the Inhabitants on the Western frontiers; But as
there is a Sum of Money in the Loan Office unappropriated, which
hath been levied and collected under the £40,000 Act for the defence
of the Province and more will be paid in by Virtue of that Act,
We propose that Such monies may be applied in the first place to
the purposes intended by your Bill, and that the Sums arising from
the Ordinary licences may be granted to Make good any Deficiency
there may be after the Application of the Monies above mentioned
and the Bill for the Regulation of Ordinary keepers be continued
accordingly.
