Nov. 4

Plantations, & that as I find by several Cautions which have been
given me Since I assented to a Continuance of the Inspection Law,
that the Clause inserted therein relative to the Regulation of Coin
hath been deemed at home repugnant to the above mentioned Act of
Parliament, & that was I to Assent hereafter to any Act rating the
Coins Specified in that Statute higher than they are thereby rated I
Should run the greatest Risk of incurring both his Majestys & the
Lord Proprietary's Displeasure

I cannot venture to Assent to a farther Continuance of the Inspec-
tion Law, however useful and advantageous for the Province I may
think the other parts of it, unless that particular Clause be altogether
left out or altered in some manner or other, to Obviate the Objection
that has been made to it. Hor.o Sharpe.

Which was Read the first time, & Ordered to lye on the Table,
On Motion the Consideration of the Governor Message on the 2,d
Reading was referred to the Morrow Morning at the Sitting of the
house,
B. Calvert Esqr from the Upper house, delivers to Mr Speaker
a petition of the Subscribing Inhabitants of Frederick County, Indd
By the Upper house of Assembly Referred to the Consideration of
the Lower house of Assembly, which petition was here read the first
time, & Ordered to lye on the Table,
Mr Ringgold brings in & delivers to Mr Speaker, a Bill Ent.d an
Act. of divorcement declaring the Marriage of John Stone Hawkins
with Elizabeth Skinner, utterly void, which was Read the first time &
Ordered to lye on the Table
On Motion, the question was put that the Bill Ent.d an Act of
divorcement declaring the Marriage of John Stone Hawkins with
Elizabeth Skinner utterly void be Referred to the Consideration of
Next Assembly,
Resolved in the Affirmative
The house Adjourns till the Morrow Morning at 9, of the Clock

Saturday Morning 5.th Nov,r 1763
The house met according to Adjournment &c.a
On reading the Message from the Upper house of yesterday, by
John Ridout, Esqr the question was put that this house do agree to
the Alteration proposed therein of leaving out the Representatives
from Joining with the Justices relative to the Ordering repairs
necessary to be made to the Several Inspection houses. Resolved in
the Affirmative
