On Motion of Col.o Tilghman leave is given to bring in a Bill for
the Better Securing the duty of one Shilling and three pence p hogs-
head on Tobacco imposed by An Act for emitting and making current
90000.lb current money in Bills of Credit &c.a and all publick monys
received by the Naval Officers.

Ordered that Col.o Tilghman Mr Ringgold & Mr Johnson do pre-
pare & bring in a bill accordingly.

On Motion of Colo Tilghman leave is given to bring in a Bill for
the more effectual securing Orphans Estates.

Ordered that Colo Tilghman Mr J. Hall Mr Ringgold Mr Johnson
Mr J. Tilghman Mr Allen & Mr Hayward do prepare & bring in a
Bill accordingly.

On Motion of Col.o Tilghman leave is given to bring in a Bill for
preventing the importation of German & french papists & papish
priests & Jesuits into this Province & of Irish papists by the way of
Pensilvania or the Government of Newcastle Kent or Sussex on
Delaware

Ordered that Colo Tilghman Mr Edmunson Mr Ringgold Mr
J Hall & Mr Murdock do prepare & bring in a bill accordingly.

John Ridout Esq.r from the Upper house delivers to Mr Speaker a
petition of the Vestry and Church Wardens of St Stephens parish
in Caecil County north Sassafras,

A petition of the Vestry & Church Wardens of Port Tobacco
parish and a petition of the Rector Vestrymen & Church Wardens &
sundry of the parishioners of Prince Georges parish in ffrederick &
prince Georges County, Sev.lly Indorsed by the Upper house of As-
sembly 18.th Oct.r 1763. Referred to the Consideration of the Lower
house of Assembly which petitions were severally read here &
Ordered to lye on the Table.

Benedict Calvert Esqr from the Upper house delivers to Mr Speaker
the following Message (Viz )

By the Upper house of Assembly Octr 18.th 1763
Gentlemen

Agreeable to your desire intimated to us by your Message of the
13.th Instant. We have in the paper herewith Sent particularized the
Amendm.ts we think it would be proper at this time to make in the
Inspection Law & we entertain hopes that on a Revisal of that Act you
will be of the Same Opinion and Alter it accordingly.
