by this House for the necessary Repairs of the Publick Buildings
and an Addition of a Chimney to the Stadt house and we shall be
glad to know whom you will appoint for that Purpose that their
Names may be inserted in the Ordinance

Moved that the following Amendment may be made to the Bill
Ent.d An Act to provide for the Defence and Security of the Frontier
Inhabitants against the Incursions of the Indians and for the better
Regulation of Ordinarys and Ordinary keepers within this Province
viz.th that the Act be continued instead of the Term of Seven Years
untill the Money's Proposed by it to be taken out of the hands of
the Treasurers be replaced and no longer Upon which the Question

was put and determined in the Negative
Where upon it was proposed that an Amendment to this Effect
should be made to the Bill Ent.d An Act to provide for the Defence
and Security of the Frontier Inhabitants against the Incursions of
the Indians and for the better Regulation of Ordinarys and Ordinary
keepers within this Province viz:t That the Money be taken out of
the Treasurers Hands for the Support of the Company of Rangers

proposed to be raised for the Protection of the Frontier Inhabitants
be replaced by the surplus Money that is or may be raised by Virtue
of the £40,000 Act and the Ordinary Licences to make good any
Deficiency and which was agreed to and Ordered that A Message
to that Purpose be Proposed
An Engrossed Bill from the Lower House by Mess.rs Beall &
Maj: Waring Entituled An Act for erecting a Publick School in
Frederick County thus Subscribed
24th. November 1763
Read and assented to by the Lower House of Assembly

Adjourned till 3 of the Clock in the afternoon

We are Sincerely desirous that some measure may be taken for
the Protection of the Inhabitants on the Western Frontiers, but as
