Frauds in His Majesty's Customs, and for the Limitation of Officers

By the Lower House of Assembly 18th. Nov :r 1763
May it Please your Honours
We herewith return you the Bill Entituled an Act for the Speedy
Recovery of Small Debts out of Court before One Justice of the
Peace.

We agree to your first Amendment but cannot agree to the pro-
visoes you would have inserted for granting an appeal to the County
Courts in the full extent of your amendment as we apprehend it
would in great measure defend the speedy Recovery of Small Debts
the main end of that Bill

Yet we are willing to grant an appeal in the manner you have
pointed out where the Debt exceed thirty three Shillings and four
pence Current Money or four hundred pounds of Tobacco and
hope for the Concurrence of your House to this so just and reasonable
a proposal

One Int.d An Act to enable the Vestrymen and Church Wardens of
the Parish of S.t Margarets Westminster in Ann Arunden [sic]
County for the time being to sell a Tract of Land therein mentioned
and to apply the Produce of Money arising by such Sale towards the
Purchase of another piece of Land to be made a Glebe for the Use of
the Incumbent of that Parish and his Successors — An Act to Oblige
Persons who Officiate as Clerks or Writers in the Publick Offices to
take the Oaths to the Government and for better securing the Publick
