No. 26 An Act to impower Mary Stansbury Widow and Administratrix
No. XVII] with the Will annexed of Tobias Stansbury late of Baltimore
County to Sell the Lands therein mentioned for the payment of
the Debts of the Said Tobias Stansbury

Whereas Mary Stansbury Administratrix with the Will annexed
of Tobias Stansbury late of Baltimore County deceased by her
Humble Petition to this General Assembly hath set forth that the
said Tobias Stansbury her Late Husband died leaving five Daughters
and one Son an Infant now about three years Old of which Children
she is Mother and Natural Guardian and that upon the Death
of the Said Tobias Stansbury her late Husband she took out
Letters of Administration and hath regularly Administred the
Effects of the said Tobias Stansbury so far forth as they have
come to her Possession or knowledge, Notwithstanding which they
are severall Considerable Debts due from the said Tobias Stansbury
still outstanding, and that the said Tobias Stansbury died seized
of about five thousand Acres of Land lying in Baltimore and
Frederick Counties the Sale of part of which she apprehends will
raise Money Sufficient to Satisfy the Residue of the Debts due
from the said Tobias Stansbury and will thereby leave the other
real Estate whereof the said Tobias Stansbury died Seized to
come to the Possession of his Heirs or Devisees free from all
Incumbrances.
And Whereas a Committee appointed by the Lower House to
examine into the Facts set forth in the said Petition have reported
that it appears by an Account passed by the Deputy Commissary
of Baltimore County and lodged in the Prerogative Office that the
said Mary Stansbury hath fully Administred her deceased Husbands
Personal Estate and overpaid the same and that there still remains

Several large sums of Money and Tobacco due from the said
deceased on Bonds and otherwise. It is therefore prayed that it
may be enacted. And be it Enacted by the right Honourable the
Lord Proprietary by and with the Advice and Consent of his
Lordship's Governor and the Upper and Lower Houses of As-
sembly and the Authority of the same That the said Mary Stansbury
shall be and is by Virtue of this Act impowered to Set up and
