An Act to augment the Salaries of the Inspectors at Elk-Ridge
Landing Warehouse, in Anne-Arundel County, and the Inspectors
of Emerson's Warehouse in Talbot County, and for other Pur-
poses therein mentioned.

[Preamble.]
|
Whereas the Salaries allowed to the Inspectors at Elk-Ridge
Landing Warehouse, in Anne-Arundel County, and to the Inspectors
at Emerson's Warehouse, in Talbot County, by the Act entituled,
An Act for amending the Staple of Tobacco, for preventing Frauds
in his Majesty's Customs, and for the Limitation of Officers Fees,
arc too small and inadequate to their Care and Trouble in their
Office of Inspectors :
Be it therefore Enacted, by the Right Honourable the Lord Pro-
prietary, by and with the Advice and Consent of his Lordship's
Governor, and the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly, and the

Authority of the same, That for this present Year, and every
future Year during the Continuance of the said Act, there shall be
allowed and paid to each of the Inspectors at Elk-Ridge Landing,
and the Inspectors of Emerson's Warehouses, aforesaid, the Sum
of Ten Pounds to each Inspector, over and above the Salaries
allowed to the Inspectors at the said Warehouses, by the Act afore-
said; which said Sum of Ten Pounds, to each of the Inspectors
aforesaid, shall be allowed and paid, in the same Manner as In-
spectors Salaries are payable by the said Act.

And whereas it has been represented to this General Assembly,
That the Allowance to the Inspector of Broad-Creek Warehouse, in
Worcester County, for the preceding Year, has not been equal to
his Trouble and Care: Be it likewise Enacted, by the Authority
aforesaid, That it shall and may be lawful for the Justices of
Worcester County Court, to levy on the taxable Inhabitants of
their County, for the Use of the Inspector of Broad^Creek Ware-
house, a Sum of Money not exceeding Five Pounds Current
Money to the said Inspector, over and above his Salary settled and
allowed by the aforesaid recited Act, for his Extraordinary Service,
