On Motion, the Question was put, That the following Clause be
inserted :
Provided always, That every Batchelor or Widower of the Age
of Twenty-one, and not exceeding Fifty Years, not having any
Child or Children, and whose Real and Personal Estate shall not be
valued to the Sum of One Hundred Pounds, shall be assessed the
Sum of Five Shillings yearly, during the Continuance of this Act,
in Lieu of all Assessments to be made on his said Real and Personal
Estate, in Virtue of this Act.
