The deposi of Nicollas Broadaway aged 24 yers or theareabouts Liber A
taken in the prsents of the Court Sworn Examined & saith
That yor depon affirmes the same which is nominated & Exprest
in the former taken by mr Wickes Verbatum & further saith not;

Mr Ward desires a Refference to the next Court which the Court
is pleassed to graunt
mr Tho: Broadnox Complaines agst Anthony Calloway in an
Action of the Case; That sd Calloway Conditioned to serue him the
last yeare; but faillinge of the pformance of his Condition, The sd
Broadnox Enters his Action, for a yeares seruice to bee made good
the next yeare The deffendant brings twoe Oathes for his deffence,
as followeth
The deposi of mr Tho: Hinson aged 36 years or theareabouts,
taken in the prsents of the Court sworn Examined & saith
That beeinge at the house of mr Broadnox about January last, mr
Broadnox desired yor depon to write a Condition between Anthony
Calloway & him at tht tyme but had spocke to yor depon~ diuers
tymes before, to the same purpose; And at writtinge theareof yor
depon did Arreast the sd Galloway at the suit of Jn° Deare for
the pformance of a bargaine of seruice which hee had made wth
him before & the sd Anthony beeinge Cald to put his hand to the
Condition, made betwixt mr Broadnox & himselfe formerly men
tioned; after he was Areasted, the sd Anthony dessired hee might
speacke wth Jn° Deare first; mr Broadnox repled again tht hee might
put his hand to it without any Question, for if Deare haue you by
Order of Court then I Cannot haue you; and farthr saith not

The deposi of mr Henery Carlin Aged 47 yeares or theareabouts [fol. 126]
taken in the prsence of the Court Sworn Examined & saith
That yor depon beeinge prsent at the same tyme mentioned in
the former deposi~ affirmes tht when Anthonie was Cald in to sett
his hand to the Condition of Seruice to mr Broadnox hee made
great scruple of it, & Refused to doe it till he had seene what end
hee should macke wth Jn° Deare & mr Brodnox Replied, that shall
macke no difference for if Jn° Deare haue yu, I Cannot haue yu,
and whether hee put his hand to the Condition or no, yor depon~
Cannot tell & further saith not Signum Henery Carlin
Anthony Galloway dessires a Refferenc; wch the Court is pleassed
to graunt
mr Tho: Ringold Complaines agst Jn° Salter, tht hee stands
indebted to him foure dayes worck, which worcke hath been owinge,
