64 Kent County Court Proceedings, 1648-1656. Liber A The depossition of Wm Price aged 31 years or theareabouts, taken in the prseflce off mr Henery Morgan the 11th of June 1656 sworne Examined & saith That about the middle of May last, on a saturday at night, Cothinge home verie late, yor deponent was to goe to Goodman Martines to worke, & Tho~ Reade alsoe, & Goodie martin was to goe home with us, & Cothinge downe to the watr side, Readie to put off the Canoo, the wind Risse, & yor deponent was not willinge to goe, but to Returne backe, & stay all night & Cothinge backe againe into the house, wheare Henery Ashley dwels, wee went to supper, & after supper, Goodie Martine made the bedd, & said I haue turnd the bedd, & made it large Inough for us all three, & shee, & Henery Ashley, & younge Robbine Martin, went all to bedd togathr, & Robine lay betweene, or in the middle, & in the morning, when yor deponent Risse, hee found them all three in bedd togather, & younge Robine between, & Goodie martine and Henery, weare the last tht Risse out of bedd, & further saith not Sign~ Wm Price At a Court houlden for Kent July the first 1656 sent Capt~ Joseph Wickes Jmr Hene: Morgan Capt~ John Russell mr Wm Eliot Roger Baxster hath made his Complaint, tht Jn° Deare is indebted to him flue hundred pounds of ton, which (by spessialtie for soe much tob & Cask) hee hath made to appeare Owned & acknowledged by the deffendant; The Complaint cleared The Coup doth thearefore Order tht the sd Jn° Deare shall make prsent payment of flue hundred pounds of tob & Caske to the sd Roger Baxster with Court Charges els Execution Capt Rob Vaughan Attorney to mr Abbot Complaines agst Jn° Deare tht hee stands indebted to the sd Abbot on thousand twoe hundred & flue pounds of ton, & hath pdust a bill of sixteen hundred pounds of tob & Cask due to bee payd the tenth of Nouembr next, of the wch bill 1205lb of tob Remains still unsatisfied; The sd Deare hauinge Confest a Judgmt, & tht there Remaines unsatisfied of the sd bill on thousand twoe hundred & flue lb The Court doth thearefore Order, tht the sd Deare shall make payment of on thousand twoe hundred & flue pounds of tob & Caske to Capt Rob Vaughan At torney to the sd Abbot the tenth of nouembr next accordinge to the tenor of the sd bill with Court Charges els Execution The depossition of mr Henery Carline aged 40 years or theare abouts taken in the prseflts of the Court the first of July 1656 sworne Examined & saith |
