Kent County Court Proceedings, 1648-1656. 63 Ensuinge the date heareof, & for the true pformanc heareof I doe Liber A binde ouer unto the sd Henery Morgan on Cow & Calf e of myne tht now Runes at Capt~ Rob Vaughanes, & upon the non payment of the sd tobacco upon the place & day aboue mentioned, I doe heareby Assigne upe all my Right tittle & intreast of the sd Cow & Calfe, From mee my heires Executors & Assignes unto the sd Morgan his heires Executors Admini or Assignes Foreuer as wittnes my hand this 3 of May 1656 James !H Homer Wittnes Samuell Chew his marke John Hatton Edmund Burton haueinge bought of Robert Martine a blacke [fol. 121] heifer dessires her marke may bee Recorded; which is, The right Eare Cropte, & slitt in the Cropp & the left Eare Cropte & a small underkeele, & uppon ech outside of her hornes, in the whitt of her hornes is a blacke streacke; And a blacke & whitt or pied udder; 3 m° 19th 1656 This bill bindeth mee Roger Baxster my heires Executors Ad ministrs or Assignes to pay or Cause to bee payd unto Hugh Lee or his Assignes the full and Just summe of one thousand twoe hundred pound of good sound march Tobb at or beefore the 20th of Octobr next, & for the true pformance of the same, I doe bynd ouer two steeres about 4 or 5 years ould, on blacke and the other brounish brandled, wth my part of the plantacon known by the name of Onion hill, puided the sd Baxster may haue libertie to kill the said steeres, soe to pduce the tobb, & the sd Tobb is to bee payd with Caske, witt~ my hand this 7th day of June 1656 Roger R B Baxster wittnes Jo~ Jenkins his mark his marke Richard Clarke Acknowledged in Court by the Debitr July the first 1656 The depossition of Thomas Reade aged 17 years or theareabouts, sworn and Examined in the prsence of mr Henery Morgane the 11th of June 1656, saith as folhoweth That about the middle of may last, of a saturday at night, Cominge horn verie late Intendinge to goe to Goodman Martines, with Goodie Martine & Wm Price, to worke at his house, wee weare preuented by a gust & foull wether, tht wee Could not goe tht night; And Goodie Martin, & Henery Ashley, & younge Robine martine, went to bedd togather, and Robine lay betweene, or in the middle, & in the morninge, they three weare in bedd as ouernight, & younge Robine lay betweene; & further saith not Thomas Reead |
