Kent County Court Proceedings, 1675-1676.333 Know all men by these prsentes that I Richard Lowder of the Liber C County of kent in the Province of Maryland planter am heareby holden & firmly bound to defend Willim Bateman of the County & province aforesaid, planter him or his heires from all Incombrances Troubles suites in Law, or Disturbances that shall Arise by reason of a Tract of Land, that I the Richard Lowder, bought on the said William Bateman Called or commonly knowne by the name of Greene branch by reason of the Easternly bounds thereof & noe other, And to the true Intent & meaneing hereof, I heareunto sett my hand & seale this 28th day of March 1676. Richard Lowder Signed sealed & deliuered before us Will Harris Jan Hendricksen Acknowledged in Court test Char Banckes Clr Thomas Warren senir came to Court this day & Entred Alienacon for One hundred & twenty five Acres of land Called Pentridge, wch he bought of John Hendrickson Thomas warren senir recordeth his marke a Crop & a s!itt on the right eare & a Crop & a slitt on the lef Ellis Humphrey recordeth his marke a Cropp & a hole undr it on the right eare, & a swallow forke on the left; This Indenture made the 20th day in the 43 yeare of the dofflinion [lot. 68] of Caecillius Absolute Ld & Propr of the Province of Mayryland & Avalon U' Barron of Baltemore Beetweene John Hendrickson of kent County of the one part & Thomas Warren seni' & Thomas War ren Junir both of the other part & of the County & province aforsd Wittneseth tht the sd John Hendrickson for & in Consideracon of Three thousand & seaven hundred poundes of Tobacco to him in hand paid at & before the Ensealing & deliury of these prsents, by the sd Thomas warren senir & Thomas Warren Junir & truly paid the said John Hendrickson the receipt wheareof the sd John Hendrickson doth heareby Acknowledge & him self therewith & of Every part & parcell thereof to be fully satisfied Contented & paid & doth heareby Absolutely Clearely Exonerat acquitt & discharge the sd Thomas waren senir & Thomas warren Junir theire heires Exrs Admistrs & Assignes for Ever by these prsents doth fully Clearely absolutely Giue grant bargaine sell Alen Enfeofee & Confirme unto them the sd Thomas warren senir & Thomas Warren Junir thm theire heires Exrs Admistrs & Assignes part of a parcell of land Called or Com monly knowne by the name of Pentridge, scituate lying & being in kent County & in a Bay Called Langfords Bay begining at Richard Hudsons uper bounded tree & runing fifty pearches the said bay for breadth & from thence runing Northwest fower hundred pearches |
