Kent County Court Proceedings, 1668-1671.263 Mr Dunn the Clerke informeing that you haue the forme of the Liber C Oath alredy wee forebeare to send an oath but in the retorne of this writt send the forme of the oath you take and giue the rest yors Rt: Caruile These are to Certiffie that this writt is fullfilled according to the [fol. 18] tenor therof in euery Perticuler therein menconed to witt: That wee the within named haue Administred and taken the oath of Comishonr & Justice of the peace for the County of Kent upon the holy Euangelist, And haue allsoe called & caused the other persons menconed in the Cothishon to come before us, as followeth that is to say Mathew Read: Morgan Williams: Richard Blunt: Thomas Osborne: Wil liam Head: John Wright & William Bishop gent To whome wee haue administred the like oath of Cothishonr & Justice of the peace for the sd County of Kent upon the holy Euangelest the tenor of which oath wee heare send, As wittnes or hands & seales this xxvith day of June Anno cp doffi: 1669Robert Dunn seale John Vicaris seale The forme of the abouesd oath: you shall Sweare that as Cothishonr in the County of Kent in all arti cles in his Lordships cothishon to you directed you shall doe eaquall right to the pore as to the Rich to the best of yoT Cunning will and power and after the prsidnts and Customes of this Prouince and acts of Assembly thereof made and that you hould the Seshons or Corts as you are directed in yor cothishon or according to acts of assembly prouided in that behalf e and all fines and amerciments that shall hap pen to be made and all forfetuers that shall happen to fall before you you shall cause to be entred without any consealmt and Certiffie the same to his Lordships receiuer of this Prouince you shall not debar or hinder the prosecucon of Justice to take any gift bribe or fee to that intent or delayeing of iudgment but shall behaue yor self e justly & truely to the best of yor understanding and power soe longe as you shall persist in this office and untill you shall be by lawfull authority discharged therefrom: Soe helpe &c Att a Cort holden for the County of Kent tht xxviiiith of June 1669 Mr Robert Dunn Mr Richard Blunt Mr John VicarisMr Thomas Osborne -.
