    Jon. Smith Deft
     Upon a rcfferance last Court in the Cause betwixt Capt Thomas
    Bradnox Plt against John Smith Defent The Plant requires a reffer
    ance to the next Court in reguard that he is in hopes to proue the
    uniust detention of his mayd. The Court hath ordered that there shall
    be a further refferance of this Cause to the next Court for Capt Brad
    nox to proue his Charge against the Defent & if he shall not then by [fol. 63]
    suffitient Testimony Cleare the Cause of the uniuste detention of his
    sarut by John Smith Deft, That then he shall pay what Damage the
    Deft doth sustaine beinge mayd Justly appeare to the Court wth all
    Cost of suyt        Teste me John Cowrsey Ciar.

     The Complaint of the Constable Henry Gott, upon the prsentmt
    of Thomas Dickes for denyinge to Ayde him in his office & ref useinge
    to let the sd Constable view his Corne & questioninge the Constables
    Authority.
     The Defent doth owne that he did deny the Constable to goe
    him but it was upon some prouockinge words giuen by the Constable
    wch did urge him there to The Court tkeinge into their Consideracon
    that the sd Dickes for Contempt shall pay for a fine to the Lord
    Propriatarie one hundred Pounds of Tobaccoe, wth Cost of suyte
