164Kent County Court Proceedings, 1656-1662. Liber B Calld Murill Theefe & said he stole a Boate, & Further yor Depont saith not. John Cowrsey John Salter Aged 36 yeares or there abouts sworne in Court the 15 of Aprl 1659 Saith That yor Depont and Gregory Murill beinge at the house of mr Thomas Ringgold the begininge of the last winter, the sd Thö Ringgold & Gregory Murill Fell out about a steere wch Thö Ringgold said he had Bought of Abraham Holeman, And the sd Gregory Murill did lay Clame to one half e of the sd Steere & said if he met with him, he would Kill And Thomas Ringgold said tht he would Kill the said Steere, And thereupon the sd Ringgold said he would not suffer him selfe to be Robed, And Gregory Murill Swore by (Gods) blood if he the sd Thö: Ringgold did kill him, he would haue the one half e of him, thereupon Thomas Ringgold said tht he & his party, would Deale wth the said Murill & his Pty about the sd differance And that Murill did Answar tht he had noe ptY for hee was none But him selfe, And further yor deponant Remembreth tht Thomas Ring- gold Called Murill a Thiefe & said he would tell him wherein, wch was in stealinge Henry Woollchurch Boate, And he did not know but tht he might steale his, And tht he was not Fitt to liue in a Commonwelth And many other words & discourses hapned there betwixt thm yor depont doth not now remember And Further Saith not. Teste me John Cowrsey Clar John Salter his marke A Court appointed the 16th of may 1659 But pruented by a season, only prseflt Capt Rob Vaughan: Mr Phitt Conner: Comrs Thö Bennet beinge tendred the Oath of Fidelity by Capt Rob Vaughan Accordinge to Acte of Assemly the sd Thö Bennet in obedi ance to his Lops Gouernmt hath readily taken the same, & thereupon he demandeth his Rights of Land for his owne transportation wch he desireth to be taken upon the Esterne shore Mr Robt Browne demandeth his Rights of Land for his owne transport this last yeare into this province wch he declareth is not taken up or conuayed to any other pson and allsoe the Rights of his Bro: Nicholas Decedent, wch Capt Vaughan saith was neuer taken up or conueyed to any other pson. Teste me John Cowrscy Clar. [lot. 58] Mr Robt Browne demandeth Rights for one Man serüt by Name Dauid a Scotchman transported by his Bro: Nicholas Browne Dece dent, wch Dauid deceased in his Seruis about some eight yeares since, wch Rights of Land Mr Hen: Morgan doth affirme was neuer taken |
