[Council to Honble Intendant.]

We have agreed to pay Maurice Simmons Esqr his Account for
Advances to the Maryland Officers, Prisoners in Charles Town. For
such Advances, we deem the Officers Notes of Hand sufficient Vouch-
ers, and where these have not been obtained, from Circumstances, we
think the Accounts proved, should be admitted.

We had the Honor of writing Congress the 28th of Jan. last, for
a Supply of Arms and Cloathing, but we have not yet been favored
with an Answer to our Letter. As it is of the utmost Consequence
to the State, as well as the Recruiting Service, and as it is also neces-
sary that we should have speedy Information of what we may depend
upon; it is incumbent on us to solicit your Attention to the Subject
of our Letter, a Copy of which is enclosed, and to which We beg
Leave to refer you for the Grounds of our Application.
