Tuesday 5th March 1782
Ordered that the Issuing Commissary deliver to William Sly a sol-
dier in the Maryland Line who was wounded at Camden one Months
rations —
That the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt John Mills, four
hundred & thirty four pounds seventeen shillings & five pence — Allen
Quynn Esqr five hundred & forty three pounds, nine shillings & six
pence — & Arthur Brian fifty seven pounds, twelve shillings & eleven
pence of the Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission of Bills of
Credit &ca due on Certs issued agreeable to the Act to adjust the
Debts &ca—

That the said Treasurer pay to Wm Gordon seven pounds ten shil-
lings of the same Emission due him per Acct passed. —
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Judson Coolidge
Esqr two hundred and twenty four pounds, thirteen shillings and one
penny specie agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts due from this
State per Certificates adjusted and passed the 4th Instant
That the said Treasurer pay to Lt Colo John Thomas twenty one
pounds, five shillings of the Bills emitted under the Act for the Emis-
sion of Bills of Credit &ca due him per Account passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Maurice Simons Esqr or his order
forty thousand pounds of Tobacco on Account of Monies advanced
to Officers of the Maryland Line, prisoners in Charles Town South
Carolina the Amount of which cannot now be ascertained to be
Accounted for

[Council to Honble Intendant.]
We have agreed to pay Maurice Simmons Esqr his Account for
Advances to the Maryland Officers, Prisoners in Charles Town. For
such Advances, we deem the Officers Notes of Hand sufficient Vouch-
ers, and where these have not been obtained, from Circumstances, we
think the Accounts proved, should be admitted.

[Council to Delegates in Congress.]
We had the Honor of writing Congress the 28th of Jan. last, for
a Supply of Arms and Cloathing, but we have not yet been favored
with an Answer to our Letter. As it is of the utmost Consequence
to the State, as well as the Recruiting Service, and as it is also neces-
sary that we should have speedy Information of what we may depend
upon; it is incumbent on us to solicit your Attention to the Subject
of our Letter, a Copy of which is enclosed, and to which We beg
Leave to refer you for the Grounds of our Application.
