Esquires. —
The Account of William Moore against Doctr Henry Stevenson
Balance due One hundred and fourteen pounds, nine shillings and
four pence passed by the Audr Genl September last, exhibited to this
Board and examined & approved. —
A Petition from James Franklin of Baltimore County, was laid
before the Board setting forth that in the Month of September 1783
he became bound in a Recognizance of fifty pounds Specie for the
Appearance of John George at the Criminal Court of said County
to answer an Accusation of Stealing a Saddle and the said George
not appearing agreeable to his Recognizance, he became liable for
the said fifty pounds, and as the ends of public Justice do not require
so rigorous a forfeiture and praying a Remission of the said Recog-
nizance — and seven of the Justices of Said County having recom-
mended a Remission of the said fine the Board taking the same into
Consideration, are of Opinion the fine of fifty pounds ought to be
remitted, and do order a Remission accordingly.
