the appearance of a Negro Slave, belonging to her, at Baltimore
County Criminal Court in February last; that she attended Court
accordingly, but the recognizance not being returned to Court on
the Day she Attended, she was informed that her further Attendance
was unnecessary, and she left the Court in Consequence of the Infor-
mation; that the Recognizance was afterwards returned, called, and
forfeited, for which she is now under Execution; and praying a Re-
mission of said Recognizance; and seven of the Justices of Balti-
more County Court having certified the Allegations in said Petition
to be true, and recommended a remission of the forfeiture, The
Council taking the same into Consideration, do remit the said for-
feited Recognizance, there appearing to have been a Willingness in
the said Rebecca Arnold to attend Court according to the Tenor of
her Recognizance.
Jacob Hennigar having been recognized in the Sum of Twenty
pounds Current Money for his appearance at the Criminal Court in
Baltimore County in February last and Andrew Grangel recognized
in the like Sum of Twenty pounds Current Money for the Appear-
ance of the said Hennigar, who went to the State of Pennsylvania
some time before Court, and was prevented from returning by the
great fall of Snow, and three of the Justices of Baltimore County
Court having certified the foregoing to be the Case of the Persons
aforesaid, and recommended then as proper Objects of Relief; the
Council taking the same into Consideration are of Opinion that the
said forfeited recognizances should be remitted, and do remit them
accordingly, the forfeiture appearing not to have been wilfully
incurred. —
The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 oClock
