fore us, we have considered it as our Duty to have the Evidence
stated and communicated to you with Copies of the Letters which
passed between Sir Robert and Us on the Subject. The nature of
this Offence and its Degree of Criminalty whether Treason or Forg-
ery, or whether a Fraud only and a Cheat, either upon the Party
whose Money was taken for the Seals or upon the State to whose
Use the Law appropriates the Fees, we Submit to your better Opin-
ion and Judgment : But be the Offence what it may, we trust you will
take care that the Sovereignty and Government of the State be sup-
ported, and its Laws, Honor and Dignity vendicated. —

The Honorable John H Stone and Charles Wallace Esquires —
Charles Carroll of Carrolton Esqr exhibits a Bond of Doctr Henry
Stevenson to Charles Carroll Senr Esqr amounting with Interest,
Judgment & Costs of Suit to seventy six pounds Fifteen shillings
and two pence Current money passed by the Auditor General and
approved by the Board. —
Adjourned till Wednesday the 10th March instant. —
