That the said Treasurer pay to Robt Chesely nine pounds five shil-
lings of the same Ems of the money afd due him per Acct passed by
the D. Aud.—
Commission of Letters of Marque & Reprisal issued to John Brice
Commander of the Schooner Betsey, 100 Tons burthen navigated by
25 Men mountg 8 Carr. Guns belonging to Geo Meade Phila & Thos
Russell & other Baltimore

We are favored with yours of Yesterday, and to obviate every
Objection that may arise, as to the Delivery of the Money by Captain
Martin, you have enclosed, his Receipt or Bill of Lading for the same,
and we request you to make immediate Application to Captain Martin,
receive the Money, and have it conveyed without Delay to this City,
in the Manner heretofore directed. As to Mr Steward's Claim, it is
totally inadmissible, as the General Assembly have directed that
Money to be applied to the Recruiting Service, and to no other Pur-
pose whatever.

Monday 21 January 1782

Ordered, that the western shore Treasurer pay to Charles Green-
bury Griffith Esqr ninety seven pounds ten shillings specie agreeable
to the Act to adjust the Debts due from this State p Acct passed by
the Aud. Genl the 19th Inst.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Neill one hundred and
ten pounds, one shilling and eleven pence and also to John Riddle
thirty six [pounds] twelve shillings and four pence specie agreeable
to the Act aforesaid per Accounts passed by the Depy Aud. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Joshua Burgess of the 4th Regimt
thirty pounds of the Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission of
Bills of Credit &ca of the money appropriated for the present Cam-
paign for Stores on Account. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt Robert Berry Twenty six
pounds, of the same Emission, of the money aforesaid due him per
Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt Marmaduke Tilden sixty four
pounds, four shillings and ten pence of the same Emission, of the
money appropriated for the Defence of the State, twenty five pounds,
eleven shillings and four pence part thereof to be retained by himself
& Co and forty pounds, thirteen Shillings and six pence to be deliv-
