Wednesday 3d December 1783.

Gabriel Duvall, John Hoskins Stone and James Brice Esquires,
elected Members of the Council, severally qualified before Allen
Quynn Esqr one of the Justices of Ann Arundel County by taking
the several Oaths required by the Constitution & Form of Govern-
ment and Laws of this State, and by Subscribing a Declaration of
their Belief in the Christian Religion, and a Certificate of their Quali-
fication produced and filed. —
Mr Thomas Johnson Junor appointed Clerk of the Council, and a
Certificate of his Qualification produced and filed. —
Mr Jubb Fowler appointed Messenger. —
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Doctr William
Baker Eighteen pounds, five shillings and eleven pence current money,
each for two Year's Interest on a Certificate issued agreeably to the
"Act to adjust the Debts due from this State " issued and dated 20th
August 1781 numbered 134 and ending 20th A'ugr 1783.
That the said Treasurer pay to the said Doctr William Baker
Eighty five pounds, one shilling and ten pence farthing current money
for one year's Interest on a Certificate issued agreeably to the Act
aforesaid, issued and Dated 17 Octr 1781 numbered 191 ending 17
October 1783.
That the said Treasurer pay to Gabriel Duvall Esqr nineteen
pounds, six shillings and ten pence half penny current money for One
Year's Interest on a Certificate issued under the Act aforesaid num-
bered 218 ending 3d November 1782.
That the said Treasurer issue Certificates agreeably to the "Act
proposing to the Citizens of this State, Creditors of Congress &ca " to
William Somerville for Two hundred and sixty nine pounds, ten
shillings and five pence three farthings and to John Cole for Fifty six
pounds, eleven shillings and one penny farthing due them on Con-
tinental Loan Office Certificates adjusted by the Audr General 14th
Novr last
That the said Treasurer issue a Certificate to Richard Graves agree-
ably to the Act aforesaid for Four hundred and seventy nine pounds,
twelve shillings and nine pence three farthings due on a Continental
Loan office Certificate adjusted by the Audr General 7th November
last
