[Ben Stoddert Prest in Council to The Worshipfull the Justices of
the Orphans Court for Washington County]
Augustine Wade having produced satisfactory Proof that he
was a Private Soldier in the Maryland Line, and that he is disabled
by a Wound received at the Battle of of Brandywine on the 11th
Septr 1777. We therefore require and direct you to draw on the
Treasurer for the Western Shore for such Pension as you may think
sufficient for his Support, not exceeding his half Pay, to commence
from the Time his whole Pay ceased, which appears to us was in
August 1778.

The Honorable Benjamin Stoddert & James Brice Esquires. —
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Benjamin Har-
wood Esqr Continental Receiver of Taxes of the State of Maryland
One thousand five hundred and twenty seven pounds, one shilling
and one penny arising from the five shillings specie Tax in 1783 and
also Seventy five pounds arising from the Sales of certain Confiscated
property on Account of the United States. —
That the said Treasurer pay to John Twyford Fifty seven pounds
fifteen shillings and nine pence specie agreeably to the "Act to adjust
the Debts due from this State " per Account passed the 1st Instant
