Present His Excellency William Paca Esquire Governor.
The Honorable Benjamin Stoddert, Jeremiah T. Chase, James
Brice & John H Stone Esqrs
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Alice Redmond
one pound, ten shillings and three pence — Catharine Cathey One
pound, two shillings and six pence and Ann Holston Seventeen shil-
lings and three pence, out of the money set apart for Contingent Ex-
pences per Accounts passed. —

We cannot find on our Proceedings, any such Appointment as
Ensign or Lieutent Mr Towson, to the Maryland Line; and yet we
are informed that he has received from your Office, the Emoluments
of a Lieutenant, if not the Commission. We apprehend there may
be some Mistake in this Matter, and request you will be so obliging
as to inform us how he comes to be arranged or commissioned as an
Officer of the Maryland Line

The Honorable James Brice & John H Stone Esquires.
Mr Francis Charlton formerly a Subject of Great Britain who
hath lately arrived in this State appeared before this Board and did
Voluntarily make, repeat and subscribe a Declaration of his Belief
in the Christian Religion and took repeated and subscribed the Oath
prescribed by the "Act for Naturalization " wherefore he is now
become a Subject of this State. —
Ordered that the Issuing Commissary deliver to Serjeant Samuel
Philson of the Maryland Line a Weeks rations. —

Esquires
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer issue a Certificate to
John Merryman Junr agreeably to the "Act proposing to the Citizens
of this State, Creditors of Congress &ca for Five hundred and five
pounds, two shillings & five pence due him on Continental Loan
Office Certificates adjusted by the Depy Audr the 25 Instant
That the said Treasurer issue Certificates agreeably to the Act
aforesaid to Ann Lingenfelter & Balser Heck Executors of John
Lingenfelter for Seventy four pounds nine shillings and two pence,
