Friday 19th September 1783

Present the Honorable Benjamin Stoddert, Jeremiah Townly
Chase and James Brice Esquires. —
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to William Chiv-
erall Administrator of John Chiverall Fifty two pounds, six shillings
Current Money due him per Account passed. —
On Considering the Petition of John Jones of Baltimore County
praying to be relieved from two fines of Two hundred pounds each
imposed on him by a Court Martial for not doing Duty when called
into actual service in May 1779 We are of Opinion that the said Fines
be remitted for that it appears to Us by the Certificate of several
persons of undoubted Credit the Allegations contained in the said
petition are true And we do therefore hereby order the same Fines
to be remitted & the said John Jones to be discharged therefrom. —

Present the Hon'ble Benjamin Stoddert, James Brice & John H
Stone Esqrs

Christopher Richmond Esquire appointed Auditor General, pro-
duced a Certificate of his Qualification, and executed a Bond agree-
ably to a Resolve of the General Assembly.

Thomas Gassaway Deputy Auditor produced a Certificate of his
Qualification, which is filed.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer issue a Certificate to
Captn Richard Waters agreeably to the "Act proposing to the Citi-
zens of this State, Creditors of Congress &ca " for Two hundred and
Eighty eight pounds, thirteen shillings and eleven pence due him
on Continental Loan Office Certificates adjusted by the Depy Audr
