The Honorable Jeremiah Townly Chase & James Brice Esquires.
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer issue a Certificate to
His Excely William Paca Esquire agreeably to the "Act proposing
to the Citizens of this State, Creditors of Congress &ca " for Five
hundred and six pounds, one shilling and two pence due him on Con-
tinental Loan Office Certificates adjusted by the Depy Audr 4th Inst.
The Honorable Benjamin Stoddert & John H Stone Esquires
attended
Robert Couden having declined acting as Auditor General the
Board proceeded to the Appointment of an Auditor in his stead,
when Christopher Richmond was appointed. —

Genl Gate's Berkley County]

We have appointed you to be Auditor General, and we hope it will
suit your convenience to accept the Office, and enter upon the Duties
o t it immediately, as there are many People who will sustain injury
by Delay in the Settlement of their Accounts. The Salary is four
hundred pounds, and the Officer has the Appointment of a Deputy
and must reside at Annapolis.
