[Wm Paca in Council to Honble Intendant]
The Barge Men and Soldiers are so distressed for Cloathing, that
we are under the Necessity of requesting you will direct the Bales
purchased of Messrs Forrest and Key, to be opened, notwithstanding
those Gentlemen may not be in Town. Major Davidson will receive
the Cloathing for the Soldiers and Mr Johnson for the Barge Men.

Saturday 21st December 1782
Present His Excellency the Governor, and all Members.
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Lieut William
Pendergast forty three pounds, eleven shillings and eleven pence
half penny specie out of the Money that came from the Havana put
into the Treasury by Major General Smallwood to be accounted for.
That the said Treasurer pay to Colo Joseph Dashiell for the use
of Colo George Dashiell one hundred and sixty six pounds ten
shillings and nine pence specie out of the money appropriated for the
Payment of Creditors of a particular description due him per Ac-
count passed for building a Barge. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Benjamin Stoddert Esqr for the
use of Mrs Mary Dulany Twenty pounds specie out of the money
aforesaid inpart of a Certificate issued agreeable to the Act to
adjust the Debts due from this State issued 3d Sept. 1782. —

As soon as the Troops at this Post are properly cloathed, we
request you will order them to Frederick Town, as a Guard over
the Prisoners there. We wish you to put them under the Command
of an Officer well qualified to take the Command of the whole regular
Guard.

Present as on Saturday. —
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Alice Redmond,
Nancy Holdston and Mary Connolly each one pound two shillings
and six pence specie due them per Accounts passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to David McMechen Esquire for the
use of Messrs George Lux and Daniel Bowley one hundred and fifty
four pounds specie out of the money appropriated for the payment
of Creditors of a particular Description due them for money lent in
May 1780 per Certificate adjusted and passed. —
Ordered that the Commissary of Provisions deliver to Thomas
Jones Esqr one of the Judges of the Court of Appeals five hundred
and thirty three Bushels and one third of a Bushel of Wheat at
