Saturday 12th October 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Richard Lilley
twenty four pounds, twelve shillings specie out of the twenty thousand
pounds appropriated for the Payment of Creditors of a particular
description due him for Money lent per Certificates passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Joseph Baxter seventy seven
pounds, eleven shillings and eight pence specie agreeable to the "Act
to adjust the Debts due from this State " balance of Jonathan Hud-
son's Order to him 5th June 1780 per Account passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Ferdinando Battee nineteen pounds,
four shillings specie agreeable to the act aforesaid per Account
passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieutl Young Wilkinson five
pounds, fifteen shillings and nine pence specie part of the advance
directed to be made, by the "Act relating to public Creditors " on
Account. —

That the said Treasurer pay to Elizabeth Minskey two pounds
five shillings specie out of the money appropriated for the Barges
due her per Account passed. —
Commissions of Letters of Marque and Reprisal issued to Chris-
topher Tompkins commander of the Schooner Cool and Easy, seventy
five Tons burthen, navigated by thirty five men, mounting ten Car-
riage Guns, belonging to William Spear and Compy Baltimore — Sam-
uel Williams Commander of the Brig Tarter forty Tons burthen —
navigated by twenty five men, mounting ten Carriage Guns, belonging
to Robert Smith of the Havana — and also to William Smith Com-
mander of the Brig Escape, seventy five Tons burthen, navigated by
thirty men, mounting twelve Carriage Guns, belonging to James
Smith and others of Baltimore. —

Our Delegates in Congress are very desirous of receiving a Return
of the Number of Inhabitants of this State, for some important
Purpose. If it is in your Power to furnish us with such a Return,
we shall be glad to receive it by next post Day.

Dashiell Commander of the Schooner Clio, seventy nine Tons
burthen, navigated by twenty five men, mounting six Carriage Guns,
belonging to Andrew Skinner Ennalls, William Taylor and others
of the State of Maryland. —
